I'm Fine, How Are You?

Here's a quick mid week update for you. I've been busy working in the yard when I can, now that it's cooled off. We're also working on cleaning up the house and redecorating a bit.

Brenna will be a year old on October 7th. That's pretty cool. If you keep scrolling, you'll see two pictures of Brenna opening an early birthday present from an online friend of Emily's. The first couple of pictures below are of Brenna with Aunt Beth at a social gathering that I didn't go to. I think I had anal glaucoma at the time. Email me if you want in on that one.

And finally, did you ever wonder what Brenna would look like with Lindsey Lohan's hair, or perhaps Emily with Tyra Banks coif? Look no further than these links, and enjoy this mid-week hilarity.

Pulling Up

Video #2 - Walking!

This is the not the first Brenna walking incident, just the first captured on video. Very hard to capture when two people are corralling the baby and one of them is shooting this, but I think you'll get the picture.

Video!

My first attempt to upload directly to the blog site and not an external one seems successful. I'll update three more as time permits, including Brenna walking, pulling herself up and crawling! I can smell the excitement in the air!

Back At Church

Below are a few shots of Brenna playing nice in the church nursery yesterday. Many thanks to the workers that took these pictures for us!

Did You Miss Us?

We're finally back from our little road trip. What was supposed to be a one-weeker to Colorado and back ended up being nearly two. I'm already missing the rain and cool weather (108 in mid-September? Ouch).

Below are a few pictures from the road. As time permits, I'll upload as many others as I can. Brenna did very well on the road and adapted well to sleeping in odd places.

There was a little bit of this during the trip, which was a welcome break for Emily:

Emily also didn't mind when she was in this mood:

Here we are in one of our numerous hotel rooms, Brenna is inspecting her comb before bedtime.

Here's a shot of Brenna at the Aztec Ruins in north New Mexico. This was one of a number of stops to get her out of the car for a breather.

This one has Brenna showing off some of her teeth, Emily says she has an 8th one coming in as we speak.

This little seat that Grandma H gave us as an early birthday gift for Brenna came in handy on the road. With this clamp seat Brenna was able to eat her meals with us at all times.

Oh, the humanity. Brenna succumbs to the powerful forces of the McDonald's Cinnamon Minis. If this isn't a great shot for advertising these things, I don't know what is. Hmmm, icing goodness.

Finally, we leave you with Brenna plotting our course. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Another One From The Road

We're all getting along just fine here in Colorado Springs, the drive here from New Mexico was beautiful, and it's been cool and rainy since we've been here. Emily and Brenna have been spending their time in the room, and around town checking things out. Brenna has been taking good naps during the day and sleeping well at night. It looks like we may not be leaving here until Saturday morning, and depending on how things go with my work, Emily and Brenna may be flying home from Denver over the weekend while I stay on. Emily has taken lots of pictures wiith her new digital camera, but we're afraid to load it's software on my work PC to upload them, so we'll wait until we return to post them. Until next time...

Quick Update From The Road

Just checking in, we're in Bloomfield, NM at the moment, heading to Colorado Springs today. Brenna has been a great traveller so far, reading books and singing songs with Emily to kill the time. On Saturday we drove for over three hours before Brenna asked for a break. We managed to cover nearly 300 miles in five hours. Yesterday we took it easy and only drove 140 miles. Emily has a friend in Farmington that she visited during the afternoon while I worked (what fun). This morning I'm in the hotel business center, on-call for a project I'm going to Colorado to support tomorrow, and hopefully we'll get out of here today in good time since we still have another 300 miles to go. We may not be able to upload any pictures from our travels until we return home this Sunday, not alot of time for such matters once we drag our twenty bags into the room each night and get Brenna settled in for bedtime. Later!
